| Description | In 1988 metal detectorist Andrew Gilespie discovered this brooch on the banks of a small stream near Din Lligwy, Anglesey. The decorative artefact, made of copper alloy, has been dated to 100 BC to 100 AD. It is of a type rarely found in North Wales and its design is similar to brooches which have been identified as belonging to the La Tѐne culture from central Europe. It has four springs with an attached pin that fits onto a hasp for securing an item of clothing. The springs have been damaged and repaired in antiquity, allowing it to be reused.
