Description and record details

Title Chown Collection
Description The Chown Collection is a fascinating portrait of Edwardian family life in the village of Townshend. Beautiful composed photographs of horse-drawn vehicles, the arrival of the motor car, and Edwardian costume are all well-covered. Dr Chown was a medical doctor in Townsend and the photos show his family including his daughter Dolly who went on to be a doctor herself and his son Jack who sadly died in WW1.
