| Description | Contains information sheet about the production version. ?Three Dances from A Soldier?s Tale? was a 10-minute extract choreographed by Company Founder and Artistic Director Laverne Meyer. This was Meyer?s treatment of the theatrical work ?L'Histoire du soldat? conceived by composer Igor Stravinsky and writer Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz, in which a soldier encounters the devil. The original work featured a Narrator, Soldier, Devil and Princess with three dances played: tango, waltz and ragtime. The world premiere took place 29.10.1973 at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. |
