Description

Part 1, Folio 55. From Sir Francis Anderton baronet. To George I. Place: Newgate.

Petition of Sir Francis Anderton baronet [?of Lostock] asking the King to give directions for preserving his house and goods. He lives near Preston and happened to be there the 12th of November so he surrendered himself to General [Charles] Wills, asking for a guard to be posted at his house to protect it. But it was not done and he heard that soldiers were selling and disposing of his furnitures and goods, and were wasting and destroying all the corn and cattle.
